Community Assistance Overview
The mission of the Economic Development Department’s Community, Business and Rural Development Team, commonly known as the “Regional Reps,” is to assist communities in building their capacity for development by:
- Training local leadership
- Engaging diverse community stakeholders in the process of planning and implementing change in their regions
- By helping them identify strategic opportunities to advance the region’s goals for economic growth.
Our Regional Reps assist communities with what best works for them with a bottom up approach vs. top down. They create processes for evaluating projects that are sustainable by and for the community, and assist with coordinating resources and partnerships regarding infrastructure development.
As part of our assistance, our Regional Reps help communities to work in a regional environment with surrounding communities and assist with coordination of incentives proposals and deal structuring.
We assist the communities with whatever it takes to help them succeed.
