New Mexico produces a number of products and services that are in high demand in various markets around the world. From consumer goods to agricultural commodities to high-tech machinery and equipment, virtually all of New Mexico’s goods and services are marketable across the globe.
So, to help New Mexico businesses gain international exposure, the Office of International trade has branded two programs designed to bring enterprises to the markets and information they need.
Focus Programs
The Focus initiative brings together in-country resources, along with local assistance, to develop market-entry opportunities for New Mexico companies. Here is the concept- a New Mexico company, together with overseas consultants and in-state trade specialists, can Focus on a particular market or region in order to strategically gain market share in that foreign market. Specifically, the Focus program:
- Provides matchmaking services for companies seeking distributors, agents/representatives and other international partnerships;
- Conducts product assessments to ensure market-entry is viable;
- Customizes a market-entry plan with company decision-makers;
- Provides vital logistical assistance for your international travel; and
- Organizes an annual workshop and business development mission (Access program).

Access Program
In conjunction with the Focus programs, the Access program combines an educational seminar/briefing with a business development mission, allowing companies to be fully prepared to venture into the market of choice.
For the briefing, OIT brings local, national and international experts to speak to New Mexico companies interested in doing business in that region. Subsequently, OIT leads a business development mission to the region where companies receive a customized series of business meetings, in-country briefings and other support services.
